We are USCIS approved

We received our I-171 today! I was able to go to the USCIS and pick it up this afternoon. This is a great Christmas present for our family. :) This means that we are approved by Immigration Services to adopt internationally. This is the last piece of documentation we needed stateside. Now we will be ready to submit as soon as the country we are adopting from re-opens after their federal holiday. Adoption is a process. We are thrilled to be this much closer to rescuing Timur. As a mommy I could not have received better news today. I am relieved and blessed. We also received our Reece's Rainbow ornament with Timur's picture on it today. The kids were excited to hang it on our Christmas tree this evening. Timur may not be home with us this Christmas but he is in each of our hearts. This will definitely be a Christmas to remember!

Have a very Merry CHRISTmas!

Blessings,

Meghan

Home Study COMPLETE!

We are so excited that our Home Study was completed on Monday. We will send in the study to the USCIS and wait for their approval. Once they accept our Home Study they will provide us with a Federal Fingerprinting appointment. That will be the 3rd piece to the American approval puzzle.

I am so excited to be doing something. I feel like every time we complete a part of the process I can check it off my list. That means we are getting even closer to bringing Timur home. He is such a real part of our family. My kids share with everyone we know and meet that they will soon have a little brother. Tanner is so excited to be a Big brother. He has had good practice recently while helping his big sister babysit their cousin Jordan.

We pray for Timur everyday together. We pray for his health and his caregivers, that they would have favor with him. We are all so anxious and excited to bring him home were he belongs. We are still working hard at fund raising. A family from our church, Amy and Todd Lutz hosted a Garage Sale for our family over Fall Break. They were so generous with their time and home. As you know Garage Sales are a lot of work. They were able to raise $450 toward Timur's adoption fund. Praise the Lord!

It has been so exciting to see God use different people for the same purpose, to rescue Timur. It's not about us but how He is using so many of us for His Glory. Thank You for your continued prayers and gifts. We are trusting what God has begun He will complete. Stay tuned...

Blessings,

Meghan

Garage Sale HUGE SUCCESS!

If you had seen our yard the day before our sale you would have thought we were moving. Our family and friends at FBC of Moore donated a yard full, including a toilet. We want to thank each of you who donated items to sell and volunteered your time to help make this sale a HUGE success. We are grateful for the Malone family. They helped before, during and after the sale. You ask, "How big was the sale?" Our sale was so big Wayne chose to sleep outside and "guard" our yard FULL of merchandise. We never really opened or closed our sale. It was open at daylight and closed at dark for 2 days. My favorite part of the sale was the opportunity to share our adoption story with so many people. We got to know neighbors we'd never met before, saw old friends from the past and made new ones. The people were so generous with their giving. They almost always told us. "Keep the change." Our family was so blessed to see God moving in such a powerful way. All we know to say is, THANK YOU. Thank You for your time, donations and prayers. This was our first fund raising event. I'd say we are off to a great start! I've been asked many times, how did we do on the sale? I'm excited to share that we did $2,600 during a 2 day Garage Sale. It's a God Thing! It's not about us but how God is using all of us to help bring Timur home. PRAISE GOD!

Blessings,

Meghan

The Journey Begins

It's a Boy!

Wow! To say what we are thinking at this time would probably fill a book. To share what we are feeling would be impossible. When God calls you into something it is usually not complient with your current situation. It may require a BIG stretch to reach a new goal that God has just set for you. Why do we know this? Because God has just called us to rescue little Timur from an orphanage in Eastern Europe and bring him home to Moore, OK.

When we first began to search our hearts for the reason God would have us to do this, our vision of it was cloudy. When we looked at his precious face and focused on his needs  and not our questions or doubts, we found our inspiration. Timur won our hearts. He was at that moment a part of us. We will do ALL we can to make him a part of the Dickinson family. We will raise him to serve and honor God with all of his heart.

Please join us in our journey to adopt little Timur. Keep praying for us! Our needs will be many until the adoption is complete and our son, and Taylor and Tanners little brother is home safely.

God Bless You and God Bless Timur!

All About Us

Wayne and I (Meghan) have been married for 14 years and have been blessed with 2 biological children, Taylor (13) and Tanner (8). Wayne is a civilian employee with the government and is a gifted Christian singer/songwriter. I am a full time stay at home mom who home schools our children and is active in the volunteer and evangelism ministries of our church. We enjoy serving in our church home together and sharing Wayne's music when we minister to others.

We have always had a heart for children with Down Syndrome. There have been different children with Down Syndrome who have come into our lives but more importantly into our hearts. We have become close and have fallen in love with our best friend's son Eli (4) who has Down Syndrome. We enjoy participating in the Buddy Walk and other activities with the Malone family while celebrating Eli. With much thought and prayer we too want to rescue a child from an orphanage in Eastern Europe. Timur has stolen our hearts! We are excited to give him a family to love. We are the ones who will be blessed. Taylor and Tanner can not wait to have him home soon. Tanner will now be a big brother! Our family has a heart for children with special needs and now with God's blessing we will have one of our own. We feel like we are to be the hands and feet of God extended in this world to bring Timur HOME!
  • It's no coincidence that Timur's name starts with a T and ends with an R, just like Taylor and Tanner.
  • There is 5 1/2 years between Taylor and Tanner and 5 1/2 years between Tanner and Timur.

Please help us Bring Timur Home to our family where he so PERFECTLY belongs!

"Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcome me." (Matthew 18:5)

Fundraising

We are getting closer to rescuing Timur! With your help we can Bring Timur Home! With the blessing and support of our pastor we have recently mailed out a campaign letter to our family and friends. (Those we had mailing addresses for). The purpose of the letter is to ask each of you to PRAY, GIVE and SHARE towards the adoption for Timur. If 150 families gave $100 we would meet our goal! We covet your prayers and appreciate your support. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions!
There is more than one way to give a tax-deductable donation to support the adoption of Timur.
