Today is an emotional day!
Today has been an emotional day for a few different reasons. First and foremost, the Malone boys ARE coming home. Today is their GOTCHA Day! They were both "sprung" from the places they have called home, one is an institution and one is an orphanage. From this day forward they will have a loving home with a FOREVER Family to love and care for them. I am so happy for the Malones. This has been and continues to be an amazing journey for them. I am so glad we can be a part of God's work in thier lives. I can not wait for the day Mary and I pack up our kids, all 11 of them and head for the park. It is a day we see coming quickly.
It is raining here, like ALL day long. We woke up to rain and it continues today. It does not make for a cheery day. We thankfully have a taxi driver who takes us to and from the orphanage for our visits with the kids. He also takes us to one of the two places we like to eat. It's been in the car, out of the car. No walking today.
Our friends the Hollis', who are adopting from the same orphanage left for home yesterday. They are spending their 10-day waiting period back home. We are here in Izmaiyl all alone. Our translator came for court then left again. She will be back after the 10-day period is up. There is not much to "sight see" from here that we can tell. We see things from a cabs point of view, very fast. We will try to get to the outdoor market again but it will only re-open when the rain stops, maybe Saturday. I am reminded daily - we are not on vacation. We are on a mission, to rescue these two precious children.
This morning we had a good visit with both of the kids. I was so excited to see Timur this morning. He had on THE outfit. You ask, what outfit? THE outfit we first saw him in. It is a Red, White and Blue sweater outfit. From the first picture I saw of him, I could say he was coming to America. I may even ask if we can keep it. :)
We found out after our morning visit that Natalia's groupa is sick. Several children are running fevers, have runny noses and are coughing. Natalia did not display any of these symptons during our visit. We were told we could not see her this afternoon or for the next 2-3 days. They will keep her groupa together. They do not want to expose her to Timur then to his groupa. I understand but it's difficult not to see her, knowing she's right upstairs. She doesn't understand why we didn't come to visit this evening. I miss her already! Please pray for health protection for her. I do not want her to get sick. It is highly possible since she eats and sleeps with these other children. We will continue to pray God's protection for her.
Today seems like a SLOW day. The weather outside isn't helping. I almost felt guilty playing with Timur alone. I will be so happy to have them to ourselves. We are counting the days. We will be able to "spring" them ouseleves 1 week from tomorrow. We will love and and care for them the rest of their lives. Praise God!
Blessings,
Meghan

I'm so sorry you are having a rough day! I'm sure the nasty weather is no help. I am praying for you all, everyday, but will send up extra prayer that Natalia stays well and that your next visit with her comes sooner than expected! Please give lots of hugs to everyone from us and know that we think about you all, all the time! Oh...the picture of Timur in "the" outfit...priceless! I would sure leave behind a nice, new outfit in exchange for "the" outfit...if they'll allow it! Be safe...keep your head held high...brave that nasty weather and just keep counting down the days! Ya'll will be home soon! We love you all! (((HUGS))) ~Jen
Hi to all! Thanks so much for sharing your not so "sunny" day with us, please send the rain our way. Things will get brighter for you all, hang on and keep praying for this process to hurry and be over. One more week and your homebound, YEAH! I pray that Macey does not catch the "bug" and you will be able to play with her sooner than expected. Please give everyone extra XOXO from all of us, we miss you dearly.
P.S. It was so great to hear your voice yesterday, thanks for the call.
LOVE TO ALL, Aunt Tara and Family
Dickinson family,
We will definitely send up extra prayers for you today! We surely miss all of you and we are sad this has been a hard day! Look to the Father who holds all things in His hands and will shelter you in His wings! He is my shelter, strong tower.
Keep posting! We are praying!

That does sound like a bittersweet kind of day. We will pray for Natalia's health--it must be hard not being able to take care of her if she does get sick. Will the Hollis' be back before you get to spring Timur and Natalia from the orphanage? That would be neat to do that together. We are still waiting to hear about our dossier--the waiting is hard. We hope to hear very soon. Praying for you while you wait too :)
I was encouraged this morning by these verses in Hebrews 12:2-3
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him, who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
He will help you through this--you have come so far and its almost over :)
Love in Christ,
Traci
Keep your chin up, play cards or something to keep your mind busy. You'll be outa there before you know it! I know how those dark, rainy days can get to you from when we lived in London. Can't wait to meet the kids, we are praying for everyone's health!

Hey, I think that's the same cafeteria we ate at in Izmayl! So glad things are going well for you all. Can't wait to see your Spring pictures.
Hang in there it is almost over. We will try to send you some sunshine. We will pray for the children and their health, and we will be praying for you all. Remember that God is with you every minute. You are doing a good thing. Try to stay dry and maybe the sun will come out tomorrow....Sounds like a song doesn't it Wayne? We miss you guys. See you soon.

YOU'RE ALMOST HOME !!! we feel for you & we feel thru you - we are ALL pullin' for ya like this is a big ol' tug-o-war + we draw encouragement from the Malone journey being almost over ... if ya wanna try takin' walks to pass the time = go a long way straight {no turns!} have your kids pick out differnet landmarks to remember - an odd lookin' tree? a dumb Ukrainian dawg? whatever - go a ways then go back to HQ after that y'all can start adding turns - the landmarks are the key to the whole thang - we love y'all & we're prayin' HARD for ya & about ya !!!
Megan, Just wanted you to know that you are in our prayers and thoughts! Gavan was so excited to see the pictures I have of ya'll in my scrapbook. He is so happy for Tanner to be a "big" brother. Praying that the week will pass quickly for you and that you too will have your two precious children with you for always. Hugs to all of you. Miss you. Jim and Carol & Gavan
Praying for you.
Hang in there Meghan! Just think that you are already counting down the days.....until HOME! We will pray that Natalia doesn't get sick and that she will be soooooo excited when she gets to see you again. We'll also pray that God sends a special "hug" to all of you - don't know what it will be, but when God's in control, you know it's gonna be good! God Bless!
